We’ve all been a little sentimental around here lately, as we measure the progress we’ve made against the backdrop of how far we’ve come. Our CEO, J.J. Ulrich is no exception to the sentimental rule and he has a special note this week for all of you Smashers!

I have been reading an amazing book called Start With Why by Simon Sinek. This has opened my heart to redefining and updating the reason “why” I am so committed to SMASH. I want to share this with you before this goes live on the site. Here is my “why”:

Years ago a great business was synonymous with even better relationships. The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, we knew them all! Their families, storefronts and stories were community cornerstones, not unfamiliar brands.

During the Dot Com era we discovered how technology dramatically enhances the speed in which we communicate. Eagerly we put away our handshake in favor of glowing computer screens. Our personal affect soon became pixelated. As a result, we lost touch of the essentials. To build a lasting brand, you must make a lasting, personal impression.

SMASH is the Cinderella story for all dreamers, achievers and business leaders. Built on the belief that all of us have the right to an equal opportunity, our founders have dedicated themselves to one mission:
Attainable success for everyone, not just the elite few.

As a family we’ve watched our friends, colleagues and relatives pour endless time and dollars into failing ventures, simply because they did not have the means to maintain the technology and advertising needed to perform in a competitive market. These experiences solidified our vision to keep greatness where it belongs, in the hands of anyone that desires to succeed.

I am not sure if many of you have read my personal creed that is in my signature, if you have you’ll understand my personal mission. SMASH is not a short term strategy to me. This is a legacy company that will create a revolution of people going back to building personal relationships and taking the time to cultivate friendships and build closer ties between families. If you have seen me do a presentation, you know I have a tendency to share so much information that it overwhelms people, because I am simply so passionate about this company. I challenged our team with a task to create a way to present SMASH in under 10 minutes. This task has taken over a month, 7 departments, a thousand man hours and the commitment from an incredible team. The result nearly made me tear up.

Watch This Video IT’S INCREDIBLE!!!

J.J. Ulrich’s Creed:
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of the honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded!

Have a wonderful week, be safe and remember you are never out of the loop if you follow us on:
